Coming home doesn't mean the battle is over. With over 10 times the amount of veterans lost to suicide than to combat operations in the same time period, there has never been a more important time to TAKE A STAND and DO something to support our veterans!! If you or someone you know is suffering from PTSD, we have people that have shared a similar experience and are ready to help.
The poppy was adopted as the official memorial flower of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, as it remains today. This flower evokes the memories of fallen comrades, it became associated with war after the publication of a poem written by Col. John McCrae of Canada. The poem, “In Flander’s Field,” describes fields of blowing red flowers across the battlefields of the fallen. The VFW’s Buddy Poppy program has raised millions of dollars in support for veterans’ and their families.
Currently we have 8/9 ball. Our team for post 148 is in their second session.
Updates coming soon!
